A current collaboration with actress and theatre maker Imogen Butler-Cole (THE WHAT WORKS).  Tara has been working with Imogen since the birth of her solo show, Foreign Body. Now working with pianist and sound artist Filipe Sousa, together they are designing the sound and composition for the show.

Foreign Body is the beautifully crafted debut solo show about hope, healing and forgiveness after sexual assault. Told from a unique and challenging perspective, using a charged combination of verbatim and physical theatre, Foreign Body is a brave, liberating and life affirming story.

NOT JUST A PLAY
This project aims to destigmatise dialogue around sexual violence and we will be offering opportunities for audience members to explore the play’s themes through Q&As that will accompany the show.

Cassandra

Stage 1 of this evolving collaboration

Initially awarded a small development grant to perform a scratch at Rich Mix as part of We Share on 19th July 2014,  the project then received Arts Council funding for further Research & Development in October 2014, also supported by Rich Mix.

“You do not have to be brave to hurt a woman. You do have to be brave to feel your own pain.”

Inspired by Cassandra, the Greek prophet damned never to be believed because she refused Apollo’s sexual advances, this ritual theatre piece addresses the voicelessness of women around sexual violence. Our belief is that in uniting without blame men and women can move forward together into a safer, more tender world.
